Following is a list of people undersigning a petition submitted to The Indian Embassy in Washington DC on April 25, 2006, which among other things requests the following

I found my own name (#31 ), however, this name is tagged with MSc. I hope this gentleman is real and he is genuinely against Constituent Assembly.

Revealing people's name with their legitimate address without their consent to public is not a wise thing to do and is a violation of privacy act (unless it was already a public information). It can lead to many unforeseen consequences to people whose privacy are being compromised.

So Nepe sir, I patiently await the souce of this information so that appropriate action can be taken to whoever created this bogus petition and compromised people's privacy.

I respect the right to opinion and expression of these thapas, ranas, shahas, basnets, pandeys and other bhardars and bhardar's sakha santan. Of course, they will be able to express and publish if the current movement can institutionalize real democracy--unlike during the rana's and shaha's and ther cronies' terms. They should not be prosecuted for dissent or expression of such a point of view--again unlike during the regimes they supported, which executed draconian measures against people and free press. I would be the first one to stand for their rights if they were to be subjected to the same measure under any measure. Period. That's not the issue here, though.
The issue here is not that of these people's rights. The issue is--when they claim to represent educated and professional Nepalis, can you expect them to have a clear idea of what they are doing (except intellectual bankrupcy and anxiety at the loss of their privileged position) if not some form of solution? (read my post above for just one example of their own confusion and contradiction). Second, do they owe some kind of honesty and fairness to the people they say have signed the petition? How fair is it to include people's names and change their degree or include people's names under false assurances and even include foreigners under Nepalis....?

Bottom line is in Democracy you should be able to express your poilitical points of views without trepedition. I am only aginst NEPE if his intention was to get back at those people in the petition! And I assure you I am not in there.

On the other front what will it take for Nepali people, other than me and some other, to realize that the SPA movement did not result in a long term democracy -- if the intention was not a long term stable democracy than that's fine .. but if it was then SPA did not get what they fought for!! Maoist will come out victorios in all this and by golly gee willikar all the Nepali people will wash the blood of their relatives in our tears!! I fear those days are not too far from now!!

That's why blaming Nepe is just barking at the wrong tree. The issue is something else. You just want to divert the attention and still play the moral high horse. What a joke!!!

No lalpari, if people can force the king to give up his power, they can do so with any other power--mandale or maoists. Just get rid of your paranoia or seek help. Hi all,

The list came here after discovering from a discussion forum that some people were misled to sign the petition.

The list was here simply to alert more victims if there were any. As you saw, one Sajhaites found out how she was made a victim when somebody alerted her after seeing the list.

I hope other victims if there were any are now informed. Some of the genuine petitioners might have felt uncomfortable to have the petition displayed here. However, I hope they understand that they also have been victims of somebody's fraud.

The copy of the petition was not stolen from the locker of the Indian Embassy. It was lifted from a discussion group. So, you can say the document is in a public domain with a limited access.

I hope it answers some of the inquiries and complaints made by some posters.

As for the debate on CA itself, I will join if I see any interesting discussion going on.

I am of the opinion that since the Jana-andolan clearly rejected monarchy, we don't have to make the CA a repeated referendum on monarchy. Monarchy better choose a voluntary abdication and let the CA work on more important issues related to making Nepal a liberal and inclusive democratic republic.
