I am planning to go to Nepal this August. I have a genuine job in a small company did my master's in Buiness administration . But i am scared about this visa stamping stuff.. My question is

1. Is it easy to get stamped at nepal, if yes than i do not want to waste money and time going to canada and mexico.

2. does anyone having genuine job have faced any problem with visa stamping in nepal. please share.

3. What kind of question they ask @ nepal embasy for getting h-1 B stamped..

If your company is a small IT company, they might take sometime to investigate. Else, it is very very easy to get stamp from Nepal. Good Luck.

believe me, its very easy.  i did last last year.  please do nt make big deal.  i have seen many people going back to nepal and getting H1b stamped and i have not come across anyone who had problem doing so.

Yeah but i am wondering because i did my MBA in general management  .. My company is not IT company i am doing adminitsrative job as per my studies so i have heard IT people and accounting people get stamped easily but dont know about business people.. And especially focusing current situation at Nepal i am little worried.

if you're scared for any reason, I suggest going to Mexico and getting stampped, because it is easier to get visa stampped in Mexico or Canada. Also, if they ask for any supporting documents, you can always contact you company or company attorney for prompt assistance. I have seen people with the strongest cases go to Mexico for Visa stampping, why take unnecessary tension while flying to Nepal thinking/fearing if you will or will not get the visa.

What about people working in consultancy, when you have a geniune job in a client's site? i have heard that many people like that are not getting visa in Canada, is that true?

Some of my IT friends who work at client's sites applied for Visas in mexico and got it. I don't think there should be any problem unless the applicant was previously out of status or changed his status (for eg from B1/B1 to F1 and then H1) or his course of study at college did not match his professional interest (eg English major working as an IT consultant); but I am not sure why that hapened--these are just assumptions.

However, make sure that these denial cases are not rumors. Usually, it should not be a problem for anyone on H1B working for a company (even though the above written examples have occured--these are just rare instances).

Well Siwani, I am going to Nepal in Septmeber for stamping. My job is related to IT though.

I have been maintaining a site http://h1b.sanjaal.com for myself. Contains all the documents required, sample questions asked etc. for H1/ H4 visa. It might be useful to you too.

So far I have seen that for people having genuine job, there is a very very slim chances of rejection. Of course, they might suspend for some time (suspension is not a rejection) for many different reasons which might cause few days to weeks delay, but it's better than rejection anyways.

If you visit the site above, I have listed the sample suspension letters. When you look at those documents, you have an idea of what could be the possible reasons of suspensions etc.

guys, dont make it such a big deal.  they wont ask you whatever questions you see on these forums.  trust me, they will ask you few questions ( in my case they only asked me one question, what kind of responsibilty i have working in this position) such as type of job, responsibilities and so on. 

regarding documents, i had trascript from us university, H1b approval notice, offer letter, and job description.  thats it.  if you are currently working, you also need pay stubs.  enjoy your stay in nepal with near and dear ones and dont put too much pressure on your head.  it is good to visit those indian forums, but we are not going india to get our h1b stamped.  so, think about that too.  remember, getting any kind of visa is lot easier from nepal than india   or pakistan based on the  conversation with people from those countries.

A friend of my friend got stucked in Nepal since 3 month re. They asked him proofs that he works for that company re..like asked photo of working place and door name tag etc. its seems stupid but true. and siwani ji , i am also plannning to visit nepal for stamping but dont wanna take a risk. so i go for Happyface 's suggestion which i already thought.

happen to my fren as well. he got stucked in nepal for a mth. They asked him to show pictures of his workplace. i am also plannig to vist nepal in october and get stamping done but i am confused after what he has been through. hey frens, anyone had their stamping done from nepal lately? please share your experience.

Actually he works thro. consultancy. and hez been asked a picture of work place while hez working re.. and he doesn't have one. havent heard new update from him.

about my case, My H1 process in Pending.  . and my current project will finish after 3-4 month. so if everything goes well then i will go Nepal by NOV-Dec.

Since most Consultancies process your H1 even if you don't have a job, that is why, I guess, Embassy ask for photos and all for proof. Also, consultancies are growing like mushrooms. If you all are from well established companies, then it should not be a problem.  By now, the consulars must have known the tricks Indian Consultancies use. 

Siwani, I am also not in IT field, but in a Business field. They might have one person to google for your company's existence.. There are now around 6 or 7 consulars or more taking interview at one time. not 3 like before. They are very young.

2 weeks back I went to Canada to get my HIB stamping and since it was my first time, they asked me wait for 3 business days before they gave back my passport. Other than waiting for 3 days, there was not any problem. They gave us a handout before the interview stating that some HIB visa applicant might need to wait for 3-4 business day. It also states that if we cannot wait for that long then we should not go forward with the interview. It also states that if you have been out US for less than 30 days, then you can reenter again using your valid I-94. The problem is you should be able to wait for 3 business days or more. During the interview, they asked where did I graduate from?, what was my job? How much did I make? and How long have I been working?  They also took my finger prints for all the 10 fingers. The only thing that worried me was I have been in US for a long time and have not been to Nepal since I arrived here. I have never been out of status or have any criminal record.  All they want is the valid passport, HIB acceptance (I-797), proof of employment, application forms and the bank recipt for the application. Rest other supporting documnets needs to be shown if they asked for it. It is better to take all you pay stubs and bank statement for last 6months, H1B petition copy, LCA, graduate certificate, transcript, previous I-20's, OPT card, current resume, any skill certificates, client side letter(if applicable) and high school transcripts. There is nothing wrong with taking more documnets to support your case. Later when I asked them the purpose of waiting for 3 busniess days, they told me that it was to verify our EAC numbers. They have a new system which does not have all the EAC numbers, so it takes time for them to verify using other system.

Moral of the story: If you want to visit canada and have fun then go to Canada, otherwise you can apply in Nepal.

 

Does it increase the chance for denial of H1_B visa if someone's spouse has been staying out of status for many years? I saw in DS-156 form, you have to put spouse's information and type of visa. Any suggestions?
