Guys,

Just to let you know - beware of muncha house if you're thinking of sending presents on Father's day, its happened couple of time to me and other friends of mine, they deliver the present after the father's day or mother's day or after Dashain and gives reasons like there were band and protest and chakka jam and bla bla bla which actually is right in few cases only...............

muncha is very good and reliable about money transfer; I've not tried their other services yet. There may be some unavoidable circumstances in kathmandu as we all know the situation there. I tried net4nepal once and got very much pleased and satisfied with their service; gift was reached in good condition in less than 18 hours.

It's a good idea also to complain to them as well.

One of the reason that I find why so many people are not satisfied is that we pay 100 dollars for a product that costs 100 rupees and its obvious we want 100% customer satisfaction..........

I agree. The price tag sucks.

Definitely, There are problems faced by both parties.. Nepal is not in shaped up condition to be true. Late delivery could be due to several reasons but ya, we being customer, paying good bucks for product do need otherwise, a good reason, fact based, for an excuse. If happens twice.. I dont have to tell, Check other site. Also, If products are delivered bad, then there is absolutely no no to that site again. I have tried several sites and have found hard to get consistency. You guys might want to try shopnbds.com. I have been lucky with this so far.

I also had the same problem when I sent gifts to my mother in Kathamandu. I will never use their service, again. If they are not able to handle overwhelming customers, why the hell they do business?

Thamel dot com might be better, but I'd say by only half a notch. The service I have received has been inconsistent at both sites. Sometimes they've been good about punctual delivery but at other times, I am left to wonder what exactly goes on in their minds.

There was this one time where I sent a birthday present and they called a day in advance, apparently to "get the address and directions" which I had already sent as part of the order, and spoiled the surprise. To add to that, they gave a delivery window, but delivered like 3 hours outside that window, when there was no one at home to receive the gift because people had better things to do than wait all day for a cake "sent from America" :)

In my opinion, all in all, they are okay, and in the absence of alternatives, I'd prolly use them again, but don't count on them for punctual delivery or if you intend to surprise someone, you are better of calling them and surprising them on the phone rather that relying on the delivery for it.

Just my thoughts.

I have pretty good experience with thamel.com regarding timing. Also, the good thing is when they sent the digital photographs to me as a part of conformation, I could even see the surprise on the person’s face which I strictly wanted not to spoil.

But the quality and quantity of the products was just okay.

I 100% agree with Captain.
So i found a solution .I don't send gifts to Nepal ..

These Muncha idiots spoiled my surprise to recepient seriously thought i forgot the b'day.I could not explain.AND funniest thing is "THEY called and wanted gift back to deliver next day (sheduled one) I just could not get it either they are too stupid or too smart.

This is where business philiosophy comes in place. "Customers is everything in US" everything customer satisfaction.but in Nepal it is opposite "it is buisness's satisfaction ".They see short term profit .Very narrow vision. Not only one business i can count 100s of industries who once produced quality stuff later delivered poor ones and 100s who having potential of growing into millions rs went bankrupt all of sudden without any clue.

We used San's Delivery Service to send surprise birthday cakes to our moms several times. On time delivery. $10 for a nice cake. Photo emailed back to us as verification. Very satisfied customer, this one. Dunno if San still provides that service.

Yeah I used San Uncle's Service for Tihar and was a vewy vewy Satisfied Customer. On time delivery, photo reply, and quality products(not half rotten vegetables and fruits).
Hope those businesses are taking note to this for their own sake.

BOTTOM LINE IF YOUR SERVICE DOES NOT DELIVER WHAT YOU ADVERTISE.... YOU CAN COMPLAIN TO VISA AND MASTERCARD TOO..... CAUSE IF THEY RECEIVE TOO MANY COMPLAINTS THEY MIGHT LOSE THEIR ABILITY TO USE VISA OR MASTERCARDS SERVICES(which would shut their businesses down).

I have tried both Muncha and Thamel.com... both are equally good...when you order something in big season they are inconsistent..i guess must have to do with seasonal volume.

I was quite impressed with both of the companies in rectifying mistakes...to be honest i found them both equally professional..their customer service was far better than I had experience here in the US.

I commend these nepalese comapanies efforts. There is no need to plaster them..i think its unfair..there are tons of other sites that are popping up following their model...so kudos to both...
