cycle makes me remember one teacher - the agriculture teacher PREM BOKA (JAMUNAPARIKO) who also was a newari-bhasa samachar wachak. समाचार क्वचाल !! He used to come to school in his AVON CYCLE with a yellow patch at the back tyre to stop dust/mud coming out from his tyre in his shirts. BOY ! he always has to pump his tyre to go back home. there were bunch of students who always makes the tyre flat besides our group पाइप बोक्ने पालेदाइको आँखा छलेर ! ;)

Isn't this Banepa school is affiliated with SVI? ?Urmila Khulal is also SLC topper among girls? Three day?s after the School Leaving Certificate (SLC) results were published, it was revealed today that a girl form Siddhartha Higher Secondary School, a private school in Kavre, also scored the same marks as Subha Acharya of Katmandu?s Galaxy Public School who stood first among the girls. Urmila Khulal whose name disappeared from the list of SLC toppers published by the Exam Controller?s Office, scored 90 percent (720 marks), sharing the ?top SLC girl? position with Subha Acharya, according to Gyan Bahadur K.C, the principal of the Banepa-based school. KC told Nepalnews that the school lodged a complaint at the controller?s office today, for not declaring Urmila as another SLC topper among the girls. ?Exam controller Birendra Kumar Singh admitted the wrong on the part of his office. He cited technical error behind the missing of her name in the toppers? list,? principal KC said after registering the complaint. ?The controller has assured to declare Urmila as another topper among the girls after discussing the matter with the secretary of the Ministry of Education and Sports,? KC added. Exam controller Singh has been repeatedly caught on wrong foot as he went on records, two days before the SLC results were published, saying that the results would be delayed by two weeks. Reports had also said that he was among the officials who made a failed attempt to cutoff the private media from information about the SLC results. As usual, the SLC board topper Sameer Shreshta of Kavre High School, who scored 91.37 percent, and Galaxy?s Subha Acharya caught extensive media attention and enjoyed huge public accolade. With this revelation, Kavre district boasts two SLC toppers in this year?s SLC exams. Established 22 years ago, Siddhartha Higher Secondary School is the first private school in Kavre. The school that has a total of 800 students including 200 higher secondary students had all its 41 SLC examinees passed in first division this year. The school also boasts one SLC board topper, in 2054 B.S. Man Kumar Badal, who topped the board is an MBBS final-year student at the Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital, Maharajganj. nepalnews.com by/mbk June 14 05

Do you Guys remember Keshav Lal Nepali sir's german shephard dog? I used to be sooo afraid of that dog. It nearly bit me so many times. And anyone remember we used to have to do PT every morning before school started. They stopped it later though. Damn KALANKI, I remember the time the bus hit the gate and when they built the new gate, the name changed to Siddhartha Vanasthali Institute. Good old days..

Betal Dog? ehe... We used to call it a Betal Dog, coz Phantom (Betal) used to have one. And Keshav sir used to walk with it as if Phantom and his dog were watching for criminals. Felt like we were criminals there... ha, and when Khatiwoda miss eh, and Vijaya miss bragged about st. Mary's, we used to feel like pathetic creatures lurkin' inside the shithole. ha... Did it really? No, I lied about that "pathetic" part.. eh... Actually, that was our secret weapon during special days like "guru purnima", an excuse to do anything on that period, but study. ha... "Miss, How come girls from st. Mary's speak English as if they were born with it", and that's it... ehe, they started bragging about st. Marys and we chillaxed. :D The only thing I miss now is, I should have also done my higher education from there. eh, I fkin' needed a change... ha.

I left vanasthali after my slc in 1993, after isc I had to get some recommendation letters from high school so i had to go to vanasthali, Das sir (english teacher) was kind enough for the letter, it had a very good content, i did my engineering and worked for few years, one day something came up and i had to go to vanasthali again, that was in 2004, Das sir remembered me as soon as he saw me that day, i was just an average first division student and was not much popular in school either, i wonder how he could have remembered me, i felt really good, i love that school

Hey dear Vanasthalians, It's been almost 8 years that I left Vanasthali, but the word "Vanasthali" still brings the charm and joy into my nerves. I loved Vanasthali and I enjoyed my stay there. I always feel Vanasthali is so near and dear to me. I have so much of emotional attachment to Vanasthali. I took SLC in 2054 BS (1998, I believe). Anyone from that batch? I would love to share memories of those golden days. Do you guys remember HB and his tough math problems? I loved Gauri Shanker Sir and his way of teaching...the innocent and smart teacher ever... Tek Prasad Ghimire Sir has been my favorite..I loved listening to him I still use some of his slangs... I heard that Diwakar Sir's wife suicided recently. Have you guys heard of it? I had been to his place more than 10 times and I had a good relation with him and his wife. They seemed to have good lives. I amn't sure what happened. Any clues? I forgot the name of Extra Curricular Acvities Coordinator (may be Rohit Sir)..he never conducted Finals of the quiz when I was in grade 10. I went all the way to the finals and he never organized the finals...lazy as*.....i was mad...but now when i remember it, I feel like laughing.. so many memories to share...i can spend nights into this.... lets read others' as well... long live Vanasthali...

God! Guys, It seems like I am the only one who passed out eons ago. From what I could gather after reading everyone's comments, all of you are at least 8 years junior to me. Oh god! I have never felt so Buddhi in all these years! Anyways it is nice to read ANYTHING from you guys, keep talking please. It is comforting to log on to Sajha after a long day at work just to enjoy this. Wish I could go back to those old days. I would have done things differently this time. At the very least, I would have enjoyed every moment (instead of resenting the whole idea of going to school) knowing that they are never going to come back. Kalanki, who's Raju Ale? Sorry it's been a long time! I did have one classmate named Bikash Ale when I was in Class 9 and we went on to different sections I think when we got to the 10th. If you know Raju Rana then I think we were in the same batch. By the way, Samana Bista (her dad was some politician, I think) was also in my batch and we were good friends until I left KTM. Regards!

seems like none of u guys know that there's hamro afnai website for vanasthalians: www.vanasthali.org, maintained by Pradeep Paudel '92. so, why don't we continue our gaff there? i did my SLC in 2000. ours was the most successful batch, with 7(or is it 8?) board toppers, including 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and other positions, though they scrapped the board system beginning from our batch. as far as i know only 2 students from our batch failed.sadly since then there have been no bhai bahinis in top ten positions.(i don't know about this yrs SLC).

raute, seems like you don't know that vanasthali.org website doesn't work anymore. It's been that way for couple of years. Pradeep went back to Nepal (i guess), got married and left us hanging with no website. :D (kiddin'). Thaha ko daughter? haha.. I know "thaha". There was this house in Kalimati, that used to be painted with "question marks" ha and thaha hit the lottery in the name of 1990 revolution, eh, he needed one while we needed democracy. He was the part of every detainment :D. eh. Aarati, Don't know Raju Ale? hmmm. Thought he was quite a popular guy -- Kuleshwor ma Ale ko ghar bhayeko. ;) hmm, know Naresh Kayestha? I knew him better through a friend of mine from a college, whatta genius he was, he had detail explanation for everything that anyone talked about ha.. He was popular in Vanasthali as a guy who memorized a whole dictionary, ha.. and I remember someone asking me "how big was a dictionary?" ha... jokes. :P Anyway, Anybody played Aaaspaas in the chalchitra sansthan? ehe... It was quite something... so many places to hide, and it was almost like you were in a fantasy land, jungle of Amazon, :P hiding behind the "you can't touch this" plant and you could hear a hissing sound made by anaconda. :D Only in reality, it was "sisno ghari" and you could hear "Khopadi" enhaling cigarette smoke somewhere in the back. :D Once we were playing and we didn't realize the "tiffin time" was over and we saw paale dai swinging his "laththi" eh. and chasing us in the chalchitra sansthan field like a Samurai swinging his sword in the battle field. So we started running to the school. There was like this about 10 ft high retainer-wall that got into a landslide and you could climb the pile of mud and get to the school. As we climbed to the top, we saw 4-5 teachers including Laxman Raj Banshi were there to welcome us. eh. There were more than 100 students out there, there was no way they could control.. eh.. So the teachers started kickin'/punchin'/screamin' on everyone. We ran to the class, and the class was already on session.. ehe. I was in a fifth grade or something... wow, been a while. ha.

kalankisthan , the website wasn't working, but now they have rejuvenated it, though it's not that great, and doesn't have much users or guests. now is time that people know about this site. Pradeep returned to Nepal, and I heard that he works for the US embassy, or sth like that. i didn't play aaspas in chalchitra bikas sansthan, but when i was in grade 5, our section (classroom)balcony overlooked it; we were in maitri or...what was the name of that building, i forgot, oh, could be bigyan bhawan. we used to see the shootings there, some kind of filmi song.
