okay, another social subject. i know most of you hate to discuss about politics so here i am hehe.... i am planning to practice celibacy (abstinence from marriage and sexual intercourse :P :P)... but i am not sure whether it's going to be possibe. At status quo, i am pretty much determined though. 1) do you think getting married is important? 2) can't we not live single forever? 3) what is there in sex?....it's just an emotion which can be suppressed if you are really determined. and no, i am not going to leave my home, friends, social life and go to jungle for "budwatwa" or anything.. i am just talking about celibacy? is it possible? Let's discuss!!! hehe LooTe

Thanks...at least you arrived to some degree of decency...appreciate it! Now let's get to the topic. the line that you quoted is what prachandapath is about.. have you read them? ... do you follow what they talk about? you may be aware of what happened in china through your history class that you took (thanks to the US school you went to) but do you follow what's actually going on in Nepal and what actually maoists are up to? drawing a parallelism between communist revolution in China and maoists revolution in nepal is could well be a gross mistake. let me tell you first thing...maoists are YET to be tested in nepalese soil so any comment for or against them may be judgmental and totally against their philosophy at least at this point of time when we all are craving for a long lasting peace. However, what we can do is listen to them and try to analyse what they MAY or may NOT do. Nepal has a difficult geography as we all know and we are sort of resources. YES we have hydrpower potential that can take us to heavean and our already plummetted economy can get a chance for a permanent respite but then we need to sell our production to our neighbors if, at all, we are thinking of any sort of economic prosperity. International support (especially from US, EU and India) is again absolutely critical. amidst this scenario, maoists canNOT and i am sure they will NOT impose conventional marxism or leninism in nepal. That is exactly why the need of a competitive party theory. why would maoists themselves and their communist policies which look good in paper but fail miserably in practice, be the reason for their own downfall? china can afford to be a closed market coz they are huge country, have powerful militia, and are sound in technology. Nepal on the other hand have none... China have cheap labor. they can go for mass production and hence can impose reduced unit cost for their production and YET can make a lucrative profit and therefore prosper economically. maoists know that only thing that can sustain them is by practicing a democratic approach. only that will ensure the longevity of their existence. LooTe. P.S. sorry for diverting off the topic...i will post another one in a while for celibacy issue.

Finally you showed your true color... showed how cheap you are and how low you can really stoop..... yes I am a 20 yr old... I make some lame comments and I have no problem admitting it... On the contrary, you are a 40 year old loser who claims to be a wise person even when his threads and almost all the posts tell otherwise...

haha sid, i know humanitarian is a fairly good chap! he is taking advantage of his concealed identity and Mokshya bravo!! i like your persistence...you must be a black belt...i love women who can kick men's ass hehe...try me :P :P Back to the original topic. hehe.. awatar, i agree with you. "If you suppress the desires inside you one day it will explode and cause tremendous damage."...that is what i am afraid of to be really honest..hence the skepticism on my part for adopting celibacy right away..but i am thinking about it..seriously hehe..:P nails, i am not a priest..i am just a normal human being who feels the desire for eating, sleeping and making love :P. i m not sure where it would take me but i am gonna give it a shot...ki kaso? First of, the US department of State has specifically placed Maoists in the terrorist list. Any reason for that? Do you think that perhaps Maoists have killed and maimed innocents, pillaged buildings, raped innocents, and all that. Human rights groups will acknowledge this. Some of these human rights groups have a socialist bent to them, like the Amnesty International, and hence cannot be fully trusted. Therefore, I trust the United States government more than anybody else when it comes to these issues. You, my friend, should consider yourself lucky that you have the right to practice free speech, no matter how asinine your assertions are. The stance of the United States by itself will completely negate any actions that Maoists are gonna take. They don't have any CREDIBILITY in the eyes of the international community. This is a very important issue. Money needs to pour from outside if Nepal has any chance of moving forward, and with Maoists at the helm, this will never happen. It's a fact of life, whether you like it or not. The second point to be made here is that the PrachandaPath resembles Peru's Shining Path, the communist party of Peru. They have lost some luster in recent years, because their leader, Manuel Guzman, got captured. However, the way I feel about the whole maoist ordeal is that the Nepali government(king, congress, you name it) should have financed anti-maoist militia, much like Peru's rondas. They were quite instrumental in fighting off the Maoist guerillas. "drawing a parallelism between communist revolution in China and maoists revolution in nepal is could well be a gross mistake. " My friend, the big honcho was a Chinese. I am specifically talking about Mao. No matter how you spin the story, Maoists in the end were influenced by a Chinese. Of course there will be a parallel between the Maoist revolutionn Nepal and so-called Chinese revolution. To not see this parallel or attempt to sweep it under the rug is is biased at best. Let me ask you, how can you not draw parallels between the Chinese revolution and Nepal's Maoist revolution, if Maoists were influenced by Mao, a Chinese, in the first place? "International support (especially from US, EU and India) is again absolutely critical" Guess what, they have already been shunned by America. It will be quite a stretch to gain their respect. They've already been tarred in the eyes of the international community. With this in mind, it makes perfect sense that they will turn a blind eye to some of the concerns of the international community. They're already considered terrorists by some. Take a look at this: http://travel.state.gov/travel/cis_pa_tw/tw/tw_927.html "china can afford to be a closed market coz they are huge country, have powerful militia, and are sound in technology" Huh? They are moving towards capitalism. "maoists know that only thing that can sustain them is by practicing a democratic approach" Hezbollah and Hamas may be doing things for the Lebanese and Palestinians, but they are still terrorist organizations that resort to killing people in the name of religion and what have you. Guess what, Hamas was democratically elected in Palestine as well, but the international community does not really support them. "claims to be a wise person even when his threads and almost all the posts tell otherwise... " But but but...I think I love you. Will you be my second bride? *gets down on his knees and pops the question*.

यो celibacy ले एउटा जोक सम्झायो। A nun died. Only one sentence was written in her will. "Please don't put 'Miss' in front of my name in my tombstone, because I didn't miss as much as people think."

Dear Loote! You did not answer my simple curiosity. What makes you so sober these days? If you are professional single, then I can understand your celibacy issue. 1. I think getting married is an important. Luck imatters in such a relationship. 2. I have seen many people who are very self-centered. avoid committments and avoid resposibilities are the ones who are mostly single. 3. SEX is a powerful emotion, I agree with you. Suppression will leads you many mental diseases as Freud said. After reviewing all of these three, I think, I am getting my answer. Now I understand why you want to follow the celibacy. You have a childhood problem- You fear committment and avoids resposibility enormously. Am I right????????

"It's a fact of life, whether you like it or not. The second point to be made here is that the PrachandaPath resembles Peru's Shining Path, the communist party of Peru." how do you say that? let me ask you this. how much you know about prachadapath and "bahudaliya janabad" (Multiparty Red Movement) and what similarities do you see between it and shining path? how makes you so judgmental about them? about US tagging maoists as terrorists, well does it really mean anything in the long run? no matter what impression they have left to US and international world, it was during the time of people's revolution. people die in revolutions that too of this magnitude. french revolution is the proof. now that they have come for negotiation and they would/should drop the gun once conflict is resolved. yes china are moving towards capitalism. exactly my point..conventional communism is not the order of the day. world is getting smaller and you got to reciprocate with other communities and maintain a bilateral relationships...that is what maoists should/would do. okay back to the celibacy thing.... quest, its not about opportunities and not getting anyone for sex ...i am talking about human nature...why can't someone abstain from sex if he is really determined? and no i am not fearful about responsibilty neither i said i see a charm in single's life..marriage is not all about sex. but why do we need it? what is there in being engaged. i may sound childish bur i am expecting a deep thoughtful approach to the question. so far no one has given... LooTe

Orgasm is probably the only way someone can attain the greatest bliss in the whole universe except for maybe recreational drugs, which is usually illegal and not socially acceptable. To have orgasm, the best method is to have sex. Other methods of achieving orgasm can also be classifed as equivalent of having sex (mentally and mechanically atleast). That is probably why sex is the most lucrative commodity everywhere in the world. Once you experience orgasm you are NOT celibate. Is having sex is like committing a crime or a sin or something? I dont think it is if it is done with the right person and right reasons...without breaking any law

These are some of the very many questions I have too. I am not sure if I want an answer to the human nature like Loote does. I am looking for an answer more for myself. Again this whole thing might be inter-connected and the answer for one could be on the other. I will be following this thread for comments. Also humanitarian, can you pleaseeee open a new thread for your maoist discussion. Fuchhu

I think when a person realizes herself and her surroundings, then the person can surely practice celibacy and yet be content. Realization is a simple word, yet so complicated to some...or should I say, to a lot of people?
