Slackdemic, I referred the majority of ktm based on my evaluation of sajha members. I assumed that majority are from city area. I also included my relatives (who live in the city and whom I have in huge number) into my observation. But I still might be wrong. Yes there are people who are aware of the sitution, I haven't denied that fact. But when I talk to my relatives and friends in ktm, they don't really seem to care about the situation in depth. They just know that they can't party until late night, the situation is getting scary and maoists are bad. But they don't seem to want to know the reason of uprise of maoists.

I agree, Sajhauser. Yeah, if we consider handful of people in Sajha; yeah, some are very superficial on political issues. I am still young sajha user myself and didn't know that, but I found some really extremists, whose logic is to kill Maosit for the betterment of Nepal. And, with that logic, they think they are intelligent. I happened to exchange some replies to those people. I found especially three users who are looking for M of Maoist so that they can put their logic "All Maoist has to be killed." And, with every issue they relate Maoist telling that they are the reason for any bad thing that has happened. I then thought it is worthless to have friendly discussion, or address their repressive point-of-view, with someone who is so dogmatic and ignorant. Yes, I am not from KTM myself and there are people in KTM who are not even politically aware than the people of remote places. But of course, the overall scenario is much different than what these people think. Maybe we just need to wait and see further development in Nepal?

Slakdemic, dude..i realize you are new to this forum. So let me tell you something. In here ..if you speak logically , give reasons ..yet you will be known as extremist left or right..I was once like you:). A royalist cannot convince maoist to be royalist. A maoist cannot convince that they are democrat. This is such forum. You speak as if you have seen nepal.let me tell you i have been to more districts of Nepal than you and i have seen more than you.And look how people put it people from KTM are ignorant.Generalizing. So, yes you are doing the right thing ..you are not arguing with logic out here cause i have come to realize after so many months that it just doesn't work out here.U will soon start babbling like many.;) I am sure you don't have solution for Nepal's peace even if you have one .U will be taking on side or other. we have learned HATE politics and on going politics have taught us only that. People talk about kicking out king.People talk about big dreams for Nepal. What they don't realize is THEY HAVE TO CHANGE YOUR ATTITUDE FIRST!!!...trust me maoist are not the best example and i know you don't like when i say this.

Full disclosure first: I am a republican. I favor a republic and am convinced I am going to see one in Nepal in my lifetime - whether that be in the next 1-2 years or 15-20 years down the line. However, I am not a bigot, and am willing to accept that there are many people who believe otherwise, and while may I disagree with them, I can listen to what they have to say and respect their opinions to the extent those opinions are based on merit and hard logic. The bottom line is there is enough critical mass in the country to overthrow the Monarchy. Again, not to base too much on the opinion poll cited above, but this appears to be a fifty-fifty issue at this time. SPA approval ratings are over 90% and King Gyanendra is the most unpopular political figure in Nepal as per that poll. In light of this, it is rather amusing to see people make comments like bring back the King (which, by implication, can only mean bring back his dictatorship). Obviously, opinions like these are not representative of the Nepali people's, going by this and previous polls, and such opinions are only of entertainment value at this time. They add no substance whatsoever to the debate on whether or not we should keep the monarchy. It's time to wake up and smell the coffee : the Monarchy is dying. It is a question of if not when it will be abolished. If you think monarchy will survive beyond King Gyanendra, I'd say it is wishful thinking. There are no signs indicative of that at this time. If anything the trend points in the opposite direction. There is probably no rule more basic in politics than this one: face the facts even if they are not to your liking.

ye murkha sajahuser ...:P a good attitude is a good attitude..not telling you to to adopt any sides here..just stop you venom and hate nagin:).. People should learn to unite and develop nepal..violence isn't solution ..ur attitude of violence is not going to bring peace but will push nepal into poverty so deep that it can never recover..and if u think by fighting ,maoist can change and win then u are wrong...it will continue as long as you will live..:)unless u die very soon..for that i have to come and kill u:P i am for process..not for king ..idiot ..when will u get it?

only if democratic decisions were fair and logical all the time, an ape would not be ruling the US of A for the second term. i myself believe in democratic practice and freedom of expressions, but just the thought of monarchy may prevail by the blessings of the precious votes of educated fools (which most of us nepalese are :P :P :P), it gives me creep. hence my skepticism towards the referendum. I hope that this little thought of mine will not materialize. LooTe

with the exceptions of a few, most of the postings in this thread sound like a chorus of the frogs & toads from the proverbial "kuwa" filled with the water from the bishnumati. the king looked great from a distance; closer he was never that big. free the nepal army from his "sticky fingers" for good, he will look as pathetic and 'diminished' as Saddam Hussein. this is the story of the fate of the dictatorial power in its final day everywhere. if the king and his son were acting too big for their britches, it was because the army paid for by Nepali people's taxes had been made to serve them. the battle between the so-called democratic forces and the so-called Maoist forces is getting more & more interesting. the plot is thickening. the final chapter has not been written yet, but here's a peek preview: the former will trounce the latter by and by. want to see Monarchy go first and Prachandism/Maoism go next ... they are both unwanted in the context of Nepal. and by the way this chorus "cheerled" by (Charles) Mansion (yes pun intended) sounds like the last pistol shot of a dying man, heralding the beginning of the end of monarchy. god bless you all reactionary forces for reminding us of this. am overjoyed to see the (royal) court jester IMI still going strong, entertaining the entire Sajha family. san bro, is IMI on your payroll? make sure he is put on a Sajha payroll once his royal master is consigned to the dustbin of history.

Lootekukur - Fairness is a subjective term and the US elections, if ranked with other elections held that year, were probably one of the fairest in the world, in my opinion. I do wish the outcome had been different but you cannot preach democracy on one hand and refuse to accept the results on the democratic process on the other. That, in my opinion, is hypocrisy, and negates the rest of your argument on the subject. Also, the trends in Nepal are clearly pointing to a shift in public opinion towards a republic and I think a referendrum is the best tool to give legitimacy to the republican aspirations of the Nepalese people. As someone who strongly belives in non-violent electoral politics, I am not afraid of a referendrum in Nepal, and neither should anyone else be, and am quite optimistic about the outcome of such a referendrum based on current trends.

here comes a long lost fool ..Kramapa..trying to potray that he is the only intelligent person left in sajah... Thought this clown stopped performing his funny acts but i was wrong..looks like circus is back in town. Regarding fate of monarchy for the fools who judge people by without reading The fate of monarchy : - If there was only force who shaked the pillars of Monarchy it is maoist and irony is that it will be because of them the Monarchy will survive. - I 100% favor to oust king..if a fair refrendum shows that Nepal doesn't need king anymore. - I believe in process not force ..and some idiots out here don't get that!! - I support multiparty democarcy and politics of unity for people who love violence and leaned hate politics taught by leaders of Nepal...can not get it and i understand your maturity level.

And one more thing Karmapa. People like u don't have ability to read what others have wrote othewise u would not have such assumption my beliefs towards democracy..u are one of those who jumps to run after crow when somebody says crow took your ear..again from nepali proverb for u. People like u come and go but i remain strong on principles what i believe in and i don't change my stance.Royal may well be history which i least care hope u r freedom of ur family back home might not be history..now i know people would come and say i am showing them fear.. i would say.. do i have to????u all are seeing it right now.. U say you would like to see maoism go ...u think so????and how would that be possible now in your context of Nepal...this gets me thinking you have no idea at all what is going on in Nepal..were u in Moon all this long????
