Gurkhas have been fighting as part of the British Army for almost 200 years, but who are these fearsome Nepalese fighters?

yes 7sea... if u read the above thread, its not about relation.. it just came up ... the two most famous products of nepal.. gurkha and buddha... but then people don't think budha is from nepal... cause our fked up government don't give a crap... thats how stupid the nepal rulers are.. wonder how things were back in kirat kaal... i am not kirat.. but being a magar makes me closer to them than to these current leaders..... and i am not racist or anything.. just wanted to see some changes...

The term gorkha came from the time of Nepal unification. The famous kings and warriors from Kirat (Rail Limbu-from Eastern Nepal) and the Magars (from Magarant regiion)played singnificant role in the unification of Gorkhali king.So much taken by the diplomacy of these brave kings ,there was a documented contract called 'Kipat system' in which the far eastern kiratis(Limbus) were retained their rights on their land until recent panchayat kaal Today's Rai Limbus are the original kirats who had been warrior from the time of Mahabharat(The mention of king yalamber , a kirati king and his bravery from today;s Nepal region is also reflected in Mahabharat) No doubt their bravery has continued to impact to this age and has made all us proud and bold gorkhalis. It symbolizes bravey.

That;s the attitude some Nepalis suffer from @hyproticism'. 'THose grapes are always sour' says the miserable fox esp if it cannot reach the grapes. They forget how happy they get to serve in the foreign land whether be it a kitchens or a local mkt as a porter, cleaner or at the most as a manager(previldged after much of an effort) One day they might tag all nepalis as US servants or UK cooks.:)or arabs porters. The irony is ...these people still work their ass off to get a visa abraod . Whatever it maybe they shoulc be proud of themselves that they have been able to support their poverty struck country nepal whose manin source of income at the moment is remittance. No doubt we should be really proud of the Gorkhas.Their are hundreds of third world countries where the british govt could chose to recruit from .But the gorkhas had always been the reputed name in bravery and boldness. .No doubt they give heart and soul to be the selected 300 out of 3 lakhs applicants(largest applicants for any job in Nepal)

7SEAPAR, what makes you think the Gurkhas are servant ? Does working for others make one servant ? I think if we were to look from your point of view than we are all servant as long as we are working for someone.
