I read this in the news about sachit sjb rana
"Former chief of RNA (now known as Nepali Army) did not hold any public office but was in the limelight for denouncing the pro-democracy movement and supporting the direct rule of the king"

So he is being interrogated for having an opinion? So what if he supported the royal government? I think one is entitled to have his opinion under democracy. If anything, he should be questioned about the time when he was the chief of army, not when he was an opinionated ordinary citizen.

Stop defending people like JBRs and starting propagandas.

He's not questioned for having an opinion. He was a close ally of gyane. Why the hell was he being interviewed by BBC during suppression? Listen to his interview in that program.

gwajyo,

Interesting question: Why the hell was he being interviewed by BBC during suppression? Shouldn't BBC be punished for this then? They asked him questions and he answered.

Theres an old saying, haat ma lathi bhayo bhane jo pani hawaldar banna sakcha. Lathi pakka pani democratic leaders haru ko haat ma cha.

Pressure is on maoists too, and if they learn on editors of Kantipur for proper editing..

Protests continue against student’s killing

POST REPORT

CHAUTARA, June 28 - Demanding that the murderers of Bishal Tamang, a 19 years old schoolboy, be brought to book, locals of Thulopakhar VDC in Sindhupalchowk district brought vehicular movement to a halt at Lamosankhu-Jiri road section on Wednesday as well. Tamang was murdered by Maoists three weeks ago.
Locals said they would continue protests if their demands are not met. Angry locals staged the protest after Maoists did not attend a program organized to make public a report prepared by a probe committee investigating Tamang's murder .

Local Maoist leaders have claimed they could not attend the program as they had to attend another program elsewhere. However, villagers said that the Maoist leaders 'fled' to protect their party workers.

After three days of protests, a 13-member probe committee was formed on June 17. There are thr-ee Maoists in the committee. All of them were absent in the program. One of the members of the committee expressed ignorance as to why the Maoists did not appear in the program.

Experienced in conflict management in conflict hotspots in Africa and elsewhere, Sundh - who is also an advisor for peace and security at the Swedish Foreign Ministry - is the first high-ranking official from a member country of the European Union to meet any rebel leader.

Talking to the Post this evening, Sundh said, without elaborating, that their discussions centered on ways forward to sustainable peace, management of arms and armies, gender issues, and ensuring a society where everyone can "walk freely".

Top rebel leaders - Chairman Prachanda and Dr. Bhattarai - are in the capital for last few days consulting with various political party leaders, members of civil society and human rights activists.
