actually, i am looking for a place to stay for about 4 months starting from january. if it is expensive place, i guess it would be tough to live in that place. could you advise me about this area?

but based on your address this is what i can tell you.
it is in the heart of town. with in a block has starbucks, TD banknorth, target, walmart.

with in 3 blocks has trump tower, lot of luxury apartment complexes. planet fitness. with in 6 blocks has NY sports club. within 2 block has USPS, public library and all the city offices i.e. town hall et al.

within a block is a street mamroneck av. has tons of restaurants.

just across that address has a very good ITALIAN place called ZANNARO'S (O:

cheap apt or studio... define "cheap" its a very relative term
remember "WESCHESTER COUNTY" is one of the expensive and richest county in US. within top 20 I can gurantee.

lot of people come to white plains to work only. they live in outskirts. so if you have car or willing to commute. new jersey and/or connecticut is a better option for you to live and commute. but if you do not want then yes the place is real expensive.

there are some places or condominiums in 6 miles place @ 100k to 300k range so mortgage might be cheaper than the rent.

but your choice. you can also rent some room shared kitchen in a house for like 600.

Forget Westchester, why not move to Rockland instead. Easy commute to everywhere in the tristate area and cheaper than most cities. You can get to westchester from here within 20 mins or 30 mins with traffic. Goodluck..
