i was waching hindi movie after long time and i think that i really miss him.
As a true fan of him i have never seen vallian like amrish puri in hindi movie. The bollywood and the bollywood fans will miss him and his style of acting all the time. however he will remain in our memory.

Umrish Puri resembles your grandpa? he he :) In temperament too? :P

My grandpa was a bit authoratative too - more with his children than grandchildren though.

I am drawing a blank now on movies where Umrish Puri played grand pa - the only ones coming to mind are those where he plays dad.

My New Years eve wasn't very interesting. Stayed at home... All visitors were gone..so it was kind of a lonely start :) I hope rest of the year isn't the same..:(
I'm not kidding when I said Amrish Puri resembled my Grandpa....when he was young, in temperament too..but as he grew old, he became just the opposite..it's amazing how age really mellows you down.

Mind you, my Grandpa doesn't resemble Amrish Puri though..:) u know what I mean..

Captain haddock I think you also have some great talent just like Amrish puri who was indeed a very talented actor and justified all the roles he played, I think I see the versitality in you and your style of writing.

LOL @ Dimple! Geez, thanks for the kind words - I'll take them as a compliment even though Umrish Puri is remembered mostly a big bad villain :) LOL! But frivolities aside , I agree he was versatile. The same I think can be said of Anupam Kher. It is a pity we dont see him very often these days. There was a time where he played villain and I loved it - he did it really well.

Talking about Anupam Kher he is now the Simon Cowell ( the American Idol rude judge) of Zee TV's show about picking actors and actresses for bollywood and there is also Pooja Bhatt representing Paula Abdul and another guy for Randy. It seemed quite similar in many ways, you can check it out at www.zeetvusa.com if you don't have zee tv at home. Can we plan our momo party too?? And may Amrish Puri's soul rest in peace. His absence must be felt badly in Bollywood.
