Does anyone know how I can view the files that firefox stores. I mean, what's the name of the folder where firefox stores its temporary files? I though it would be somewhere under local setting folders but I can't find it.

It will also show you the cache directory: C:\Documents and Settings\nepali_keta12345\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\06n25cad.default\Cache

Captain, Thanks for the help but I can't get to what I want. I had come across a picture while browsing the internet, a few days back. But now I can't find the website. So I was wondering if I could get to the folder where firefox stores all the browsing history and look for the picture. Can you please tell me how I can do that. The cache files are a bunch of files which I don't even know how to open.

Your browsing history is set to a number of days by default - if you viewed that picture before your history for that day got wiped out, you can probably still find the URL. Press Ctrl+H, and see if you can find it there in the sidebar (under View on the sidebar, select 'By Date and Site' for convenience).

btw, you can open the files in your cache folder as a text document and search for the file you're looking for. you're likely to find the URL information there.

That's right, if the file is still in your system, which it may or may not be, you can either do about:cache and go to where it says "Disk Cache" and click on "List Cache entries" or parameterize what you put on the address bar ie type in about:cache?device=disk as republican suggested and you will see the list of files, including gif files in both cases. If you dont find the file you are looking for there, it is most likely not in the system anymore (unless you saved it somewhere else - did you check your default download directory from Tools>Options>Main>Downloads?) Good luck! :)

You're welcome. Which leads me to a question for everyone - Do you use firefox - why/why not. What are your favorite extensions?

. I use firefox. Its cool! I use the Google Toolbar plugin, tried the foxytunes one ( later removed it .) I use firefox since i have been waiting for safari on windows :( . I am however running the *crashing* version of WEBKIT [Swift] on windows , which doesnt give me the feel of safari , yet which i am optimistic about , once i get their stable version released! * NOTE: dont even try swift ! :) seriously! Try it if you want to improve it, else, WAIT! :_)
