HEY GUYS, HOW DANGEROUS IT COULD BE DOING VISA IN F1 VISA. I HEARD THAT THERE ARE SOME NEPALESE STUDENTS DOING BUSINESS IN USA WHILE STAYING IN F1 VISA AND GOING TO SCHOOL. I WAS TOLD THAT THEY CAN OBTAIN FEDERAL TAX ID AND STATE TAX ID WITHOUT NO OBLIGATION. THEY BEEN DOING THIS FROM LAST 3 YEARS. ARE THEY GOIING TO BE IN TROUBLE IN FUTURE OR US GOVERNMENT SIMPLE DOES NOT CARE AS LONG AS THEY ARE PAYING THEIR TAX RIGHT. EXPECTING SOME GOOD SUGGESTIONS.

First off Balbahadur, It's a good thought that you are starting a business. When I saw your posting in the main page i thought i would give it a click and then when i read your first sentence "HOW DANGEROUS IT COULD BE DOING VISA IN F1 VISA." I gave another thought. And it's sorda reminded me of that old saying, "If there is too little water in the pot it makes too much noise." But wait a minute that could be typo too rite? Your question is very geniune my friend. Yeah you are rite lot of people have done it before and they are still doing it. As long as you pay taxes you should be fine. But they are definately going to chane the federal law within 3-9 months before or after election. If they do that, then they would ask proff of your legal status if you really want start a business. For instance to run a business you would require to get bunch of permits from your country government center. Now if they impose that rule then you might have prove that you are authorized to work or have a legal residence status. Again it depends in where you live. If you do it now chances are you might not be asked later about the status becuase the system rite now is not that strict. And coming back to my first response. You are in a F1 visa if i were you i would try to give more emphasis to finish my education rather then starting a business. Now i'm not discouraging you by any means here. Yeah few people have done it and they are fine till now. But business is business and it all depends on sale, isnt it? If your business goes in loss then you would not have anything to back you up. However, if you finish your studies you would have something to take care of you even if you go broke. Do you see where i'm going ? It's all up to you. You are your own descision maker. Think wisely and make a descision. I wish you all the best and success.

dude, if you think you have a solid business.. then its perfectly LEGAL to start any sole proprietor business (as for corp, LLC or LLP, you will need US Citizen as partner or stake holder, does not matter the holding patterns). If you're illegal here in US, when starting sole proprietor business no questions will be asked. Need help or need to evaluate your biz, email me... lamak_98 at hotmail

1 more thing though, make sure you're in "status" at all the time.
