Suggestions please.
We are planning to donate a VOIP phone to a school in a village near Banepa but we doubt they will be able to handle a PC; it's the reason we are looking for one that connects directly to wired router.
We probably can afford, but don't want to pay Vonage or similar 'unlimited' services. Is there any prepaid type service better than Skype and that doesn't need PC?
Over 27 people originally from a walking distance from that school are currently abroad. Calling relatives has been a problem for marginally literate people. This donation will not only connect them with their sons and daughters abroad but also generate some funds for school by charging a low fee per call. A generous donor has already installed the Internet and 4 computers and a VOIP phone would probably be a great thing for those people to realize the benefit of the Internet. We don't want to add any hardware except a phone that connects directly to the router. A few hundred dollars is not a problem but adding a wireless router or any other hardware might cause problem in that village with a couple of people barely computer literate.
Thank you.

Thanks guys, I'm considering magic-jack unless I get a "without PC" option. Trying to keep things simple for people with limited computer knowledge.

Thanks thisisbinod, I did not get so good reviews about it. One time investment of 79$ is probably fine for that Belkin phone, but I am also looking for even cheaper per call charge, especially for Arabian countries too. More suggestions please.

Buy phone from SIPGATE, they connect directly to the router, are cheap (the phone itself), no monthly fees, calls to SIPGATE clients or contacts are free, sound quality is excellent, free UK number, etc. etc. Otherwise buy PAP2 adapter from ebay for about $30 and get two phone points which can be configured to SIPGATE or other VOIP account providers. I have used both (for home and business) and I have had excellent service for past three years.

Vonage will be expensive for limited number of calls. A few of us will be alone to pay the monthly bill, and whatever revenue they collect in Nepal goes to school, not to us. So, we want something cost effective and technologically easy for rural area. incrediblesuperbatma and darkside seem to have great idea, I didn't know about those devices, I am reviewing them. Thank you guys.
