I love Nepali food, I love other cuisines too, like Chinese, Italian, American etc etc basically I love food so I enjoy trying new cuisines. But I cant eat them in a regular everyday basis. I have to have my Nepali Daal Bhaat Masu taarkari achaar everyday at least once. The most I can go with without our food is two day to the most, any longer the Daal Bhat tarkari starts talking to me, its like addiction. No food gives me pleasure to eat our Nepali Bhat, Kalo Daal, aalo kauli, Khashi ko masu, piro golbheda ko achaar with timbur, with a poach anda and ghiu jhane ko on top of the rice. I use my hands and take down the biggest gaas after gaas, eating with the hands is special. Nepali khana khada Naito thado hune gari khanu parchha. and to end the great meal, a glass of moi (remeber this drink). Thats the way to EAT.

thanks bro will keep that in mind. No problem so far for me and millions of Nepali do that everyday in Nepal and yet Nepalese people dont suffer from obesity, but its a different story here in the US, you are right the environment is better but I do work out daily to make it up and dont have plans to stop. Its just i love Nepali food too much

I apologize if that "pakhe comment" was a little too much. But I'm telling you, you should not be boasting too much about eating dal/bhat ko pahad 2 times a day every day. Eating too much rice is not good whether ur Nepali or not. Period.

Obesity is not the problem if Nepalese people or in Nepal. Its here in the US. Rice is just another form of unwanted carbs for westerners on top of their regular diet of food they consume daily like bread and pasta, donuts, ice cream, steak potatoes and lots of take outs and fast food. You see power ranger bro, for most of us, eating out is rare and occasional treat its real fun and we enjoy it. We dont eat food like Americans do so they dont eat rice as a staple because they already consume enough carbs thats why rice is not consumed here as much as we Nepali people do. thats why for us Nepali it balances the equation of the daily nutrients. If you eat like Americans do and continue eating Daal bhaat twice a day than that could result in some extra unwanted weight. But the topic is how much do we crave Nepali food and how long can we go on not eating it. Not Bhaat bashing please, consider momo, choila, sekuwa, etc etc too how much do you crave them or any other Nepali food that you crave and havent had them for a long time.

My roommate's philosophy regarding food is like sex. If you have choice then you may like to go with it every day or every other day as you feel it , if not you will await until you got a chance to have it. But you can manage food as you like it unless behave like ex-crown prince Paras because back home your family did every thing.
