Hello Everyone, I have some questions about the TPS EAD. Last year US government extended our TPS through June 24, 2025 and told us to re-register within 60 days, which was until Dec 2023, thats why they only extend our TPS EAD till 30 June 2024. Again in November they extended our re-registration timeline to June 24, 2025 but didn't extend our TPS EAD further than June 24, 2024. Is this a clearical mistake or they are extending within this or next week. In my undrstanding we have time until June 24 2025 to be in the TPS until June 24, 2025. And if you read the TPS Nepal page TPS is already extended through June 24, 2025. Anyway my real question, We (me and my husband) re-registered our TPS and EAD concurrently in October 30, 2023, Both our cases are still pending. Our employer are asking us to update our I9 because our EAD are expiring in June 30, 2024. We tried to show the documnet Temporary Final Rule (TFR) + (I797c) to prove them we filed the TPS and EAD on proper time, they told us they cannot accept those documents because our EAD was already expired on 01/04/2021, it is valid through auto extension but cannot use for the TFR even we filled the EAD on time. (this is BS) We contacted the immigration + employment attorney we got the same bad news, he told us employer is right and we just have wait for USCIS to extend our EAD. We are in really in bad situation, if we get terminated now we will lose the chance for the Green Card, my husband's employer will start the process from Nov 2024. Until then he need to hold his job through TPS. Any Suggestion, or anybody know USCIS will extend the TPS after June 30, 2024? Thank you for your help. P. Rai

Last Update: June 14, 2024
USCIS is aware of the TPS EAD issue and is working diligently to implement procedures to ensurecontinued processing beyond the expiration date, although the matter was not addressed in the April 4, 2024 TFR. Last update: 3:50pm CS, Maryland

@Nepal-change:
The DOJ attorney already confirmed that there was an error on their part.
And remember, Bank of America, Amazon, Walmart, UPS, Costco, and many more companies use Equifax Workforce Solutions for I-9 compliance. HR depend on system updates to mange the verification of employment eligibility effectively. Additionally, the system does not recognize Nepali expired EAD card with an automatic extension until June30, 2024, as valid verification.
Good luck!!!

Guys, from what I see on USCIS website, looks like EAD for TPS holders from Nepal or other eligible countries for that matter, is auto-extended from up to 180 days to up to 540 days for (1) applicants who timely and properly filed their Form I-765 applications on or after Oct. 27, 2023, if the application is still pending on April 8, 2024; and (2) applicants who timely and properly file their Form I-765 application on or after April 8, 2024 and on or before Sept. 30, 2025. If you scroll down to 'Categories Eligible for Automatic Extensions' section, TPS category - (a) (12) is also clearly mentioned. Correct me if my observation is wrong. A friend of mine is also freaking out as his TPS EAD is expiring on June 30, 2024, so I did the legwork. https://www.uscis.gov/eadautoextend

If you have EAD card with the expiration date of June 30, 2024 (on the face of the cart, not auto extended) and if you applied EAD before June 30, 2024 then you're eligible to get 180/540 days extension from TFR ruling, but if your EAD expired in 2019/2020/2021 and getting extension from FRN then you cannot use TFR to extend your EAD.
