Looks like Nepal will face more trouble in near future! If Kanak Dixit worries, then it is really getting serious!! From the article: - King told an European diplomat that he wants to rule by himself! - Hallakhalla in diplomat's circle! and more! http://www.kantipuronline.com/nepali/kolnews.php?&nid=25071

Thanks U-2 for informing us the article. The article is interestingly written in Unicode. Easy to read and you can read anywhere provided you have either MS Windows XP or unicode fonts. The article is written very boldly. Thats the greatthing behind Dixit family. Madan Mani Dixit used to write very bold articles through his weekly in Panchayat kaal when all other Chamchas like Naya Sandesh (Ramesh N. Pandey's) used to write only chamchagiri. Kanak being member of Dixit family could write it, in addtion to his ability. We need such great peoples. Kunda Dixit also writes very strong article whenever needed. Well, these are the journalists who don't fall under the useful idiots category. Most of the time they look very Royalists because they don't run cheap articles for bus stop smash hit, but, they write in time and in place. Journalists should learn from them. Good Job Kanak. Hat off salute. My only fear is that "Does King G. read this article?" or his chamchas just remove that page before K. Post reaches to Durbar? Does Paras understand this article? Well, he might be able to read it, but can he understand the contents of article, i.e. make necessary interpretation? Or, he is going hunt for Kanak? GP

The views of Kanak Mani Dixit clearly indicates and proves his relation with GP Koirala. His strong argument to re-install the parliament is only based on re-installing GP Koirala. In violation of his own party constitution GP thinks he is the only man to lead the party till his death and govern the nation (is this democracy?) I want an explanation from Kanak Mani Dixit, in these 15 years in which mostly GP and his party ruled who you consider are directly responsible for the present chaotic condition and bankruptcy of the nation? The hijacker minister like Chakra Prasad Bastola publicly admitted that they (congress family) had invested in Nealease politics and they are getting the returns (through corruption) of the investment. Koirala Congress is completely governed by his family members; Chakra Prasad Bastola, Saileja, Nuna Koirala, Girija, Sushil Koirala are few of the examples as they are all related family members. Even Kanak Mani Dixit is a relation of Koirala family. The present precarious condition of the country should be of great concern to intellectuals but instead installing Koirala as a prime minister again and again is not a solution at all. The king must create a governing council keeping the elites of the country and representatives from all courses and give them full power to govern the country and bring the derailed democratic system on track other wise present precarious condition will bring the dooms day for the country.

I am not sure if the present pathetic situation of Nepal is entirely due to post-aandolan 15 years of democratic rule. It is a proven fact that ruling elites have for centuries pretty much ignored the nation's development needs for their personal indulgence. The insurgency, and any support there-of, are mostly due to lack of positive leadership from Kathmandu. Hoina ra?

Bahudal does not necessarily mean democracy. Democracy, to me, is a practice rather than an institution. No one gives democracy to no one. The concept of democracy is pretty much an abstract idea but is well defined by concrete measures. Nepal has bahudal since the last 15 years, not democracy. it will take decades for Nepal to see what it means by democracy if we act the way we do these days. Pointing at past rulers is the worst approach in dealing the issues (for solving these existing issues) the nation is facing today but the question of accountability must be raised. Yes, Bunch of those sri teens exploited the nation, most of the shahs with crown did no better, and raitis were busy singing swastis to whomever ordered them resigning to involuntary slavery. The political world was very parochial (still is), and social world was guided by economic dominance. Political parties are usually run by those who claim they know it all. But all they care to know is how to play power game. They rarely see beyound singhdurbar. NC governed the nation for the most part (bahudal years) with clear mandate from the voters (whoever they may be) but how often do we hear NC leadership taking responsibility for current problems? When it comes to taking responsibility, all political leaderships are the same. Bhate awasarbadi haru! Not let's talk about the king. King is not elected to govern. He should stay away from direct politics (meaning running the nation in daily basis). It is not his job to run the nation unless he runs for the office and gets elected to do so. But as long as these pipalpate so called political party leaders keep saying "raja did this, raja did that", the king will continue to think that he is the who is doing things. The political leadership should learn to ignore the guy in Narayanhiti if they want power to the people. Sooner the better.

Dixit is the guy who warned the King against taking over the nation. Right now, he (the king) has already taken over whatever Maoists has left. Other so called leaders are either in singhdurbar singing bhajans or around ratna park hanging out. Listen closely, these days all I hear is warnings from various quarters back home or abroad. Everybody warns us these days. I want to know what happens when the warning is pissed off (sorry). Because that is what's happening. one more warning? hike off. We already have too many Jotishis.

Compulsive Liar, U doon't know who Kanak Dixit is, Really! u must be lying. U CONTROLAI GARNA NASAKNE LIAR! He is the son of KAMAL MANI DIXIT and BROTHER OF KUNDA DIXIT AND RUPA DIXIT. All of them are hoary-they don't color their hair, they prefer to leave it natural white. I think KAMAL DIXIT inherited MADAN SUMSHER'S AND HIS WIFE JAGDAMBA'S entire DHAN. RANA LE NEPAL LUTE, DIXIT PARIWAR LE RANA LUTE. ALSO NO DOUBT ABOUT IT AS SOMEONE MENTIONED ABOVE, they are MAHA AWASARBADIS . They also show MAHA-LOYALY TOWARDS THE KOIRALA CLAN (SHOW matrai ho ya GENUINE ho, tyo ta bhagwan jane). A couple of years back someone told me that KANAK MANI AND CO are RAW ko agent. Bhagwan jane ke satya ho ke jhut. But we should also see their NICER SIDE, like Kanak has opened a Spinal Cord Injury Rehab, which is first of its kind in Nepal.

Nepal needs a younger more educated leadership to prevent the country falling into further depths of economic and cultural despair. The old geezers from the bourgeouis class and the maharaj sarkars who go around murdering innocents should give way to educated youngsters who are more adaptable to a liberal way of life. Nepal seriously needs strong young leadership to tap into its strong points like tourism and natural resources to be on its way to get out of the hell that is now...

Let me add, at times when we are used to seeing EVEN the PM, going down on his knees and prostrating in front of Shri 5 Gyanendra, not to mention the antics of slavish chamches like Rayamajhi, Chaudhari, Bista and company,we should thank Kanak Dixit for standing upright, and admonishing Shri 5 in an article published in a widely circulated daily paper regardless of the looming Girija Factor.

It's good of Kanak to stick his neck out and say these words to the king. Obviously, not everyone is going to agree wholly with any or all of these words, and that's fine. You can never please everyone with a few hundred words on anything, and that's life! But this piece is perfectly timed to be read by the king's so-called advisers. My own sense is that Narayanhiti -- which doesn't seem to have been staffed by smart, strategic people -- appears intent on continuing on a bizarre self-destructive path, with grave implications for the rest of Nepal. Meantime, the only way to help improve/clean up Nepali politics is for good men and women to start speaking out publicly by standing behind behind their words, and pushing for their goals -- even if it means putting themselves in harm's way and collecting enemies. For too long, Nepali politics has been a spectator sports for people who could and should do more in whatever PUBLICLY VISIBLE way to make the 'game' fairer and better for all. oohi ashu
