contd

Again, don't teach me to be a good or a bad boy. You be good and glad for yourself. I know what I am up to. Saroj, let's not develope real animosity because of political principles. I will not comment on what you write and please do not comment on what I write. Neither I owe you something or you owe anything for me. Here we are, we knew each others clearly, so lets agree to cease arguments for ever. You can have the last say but do not try to be superior. Cheers mate.

Saroj wrote: ". . .let's fight over something as serious as democracy of our country by having backyard barbeque parties and dancing to Jhyaure and singing songs for some lady . . " I can not understand why this guy is freaking out with me having a fun-filled weekend with friends. Even a guy in our company who introduced himself as a "Mandale" enjoyed every bit of it- political guff-gaaff, bbq, jhaaure, ghazal, everything. And here is this Saroj guy who does not want to introduce himself as a "Mandale", but as a "relatively pro-king", is freaking out like a hell. Saroj bhaiya, how do you want me to spend my time ? By fantasizing about a person with opposite political view like you do ? Weren't you in some other thread fantasizing about finding one million dollars and giving it to Nepe to see if you can make him support the King like you do ? What a fantasy ! What a time pass ! Saroj biradar, I have seen some of your conversation with Newuser and others and let me tell you this- I have not seen that many people in Sajha who present as ridiculously self-contradicting logic as you do. When you are supporting the King curtailing freedom of expression in the country, you are exercising your democratic rights. But when somebody criticize your article, that is not an exercise of freedom of expression, right ? What is that ? Oh I remember, "intolerance" ! Saroj, it seems it's about time you start learning abcd of democracy before you start teaching Newuser. The first lesson for you would be this: Criticizing is not "intolerance", not allowing it is. Got it ? For illustration, What your freaking King is doing in Nepal is intolerance. And supporting that intolerance will also be intolerance by association. And this is not important but because I saw you lecturing about democracy and what not to Newuser, let me tell you this: Newuser is among very few responsible posters in Sajha. And as for knowing democratic value of freedom of expression, he works for an institution that has been defining 'freedom of expression' and 'responsibility' to the entire world. Let's say, he eats, drinks and sleeps the freedom of expression. Don't a supporter of a tyrant king dare to teach him what democracy is, Saroj fella.

just one more thing, if long-distance or cyber activism is useless, what the f--k are you doing in Sajha all these months, Saroj ?

Nepe thanks for taking few moments to address me. I will be busy the rest of the weekend but will be back to hopefully have a decent discussion with you unlike other respectful and responsible posters who resort to calling names and have narrow minded view to accept that there are people who don't support the king but feel democracy and the oncoming politicians might not be a good solution for the country right now. I hope you're not another one of those closed minded people. Look forward to responding to you.

Looking at your definition of democracy, openess and freedom, I very much might turn out to be a close minded person, Saroj. You might be wasting your time with me. Better go to fantasy or a doomsday fantasy to celebrate the King.

Nepe your last question, I will answer. There is no self contradiction when I talk about long distance cyber activism. I am not supporting any changes to the political system right now. So there's no need for me to go there. ON THE OTHER HAND you and your responsible friends are so concerned about the Dictator so why don't you put your mouth where your words are and be a true freedom fighter and go to NEPAL and do something about it, instead of fighting very safely with your desktop model of democracy fighting. Now that's where the self contradiction lies at. I know what democracy, openess and freedom means and yes it would be great if it could be implemented in Nepal. Even a two year old can say that. But, knowing the politicians who have plundered the country for the last decade, it's foolhardy for you to expect them to stand for the real meaning of democracy, openess and freedom.

Saroj, If you are not into doing something for democracy in Nepal, in other words, if it is not your freaking business, then why are you so freaking and criticizing what others are doing ? No self-contradicting, huh ? Those who care about democracy, do whatever they can from wherever they are. And in this struggle for democracy, every support, physical or moral, from the land or from diaspora, small or big, matters. In any case, it is none of your freaking business, as you are yourself suggesting. By the way, if you think the King should get people's support, what the f--k are you doing in Europe ? Ki Nepal pugi sakera yeso bhaneko ?

Nepeji, Just leave this man alone who we all have known exactly what we ought to know about. Even King Gyanendra or T. Giri can't defend dictatorship as the way he does.As we know the bottom line of his paradoxical argument, there is absolutley nothing worthwhile to debate with him. I think I did a big mistake by arguing with him a couple of days ago about that 'tabloid prophecy' of Nepal's political future. It was too much for me and I dismissed that immidiately. Thereafter, he has got unnecessary attention from me which has helped accumulating a false belief in him that he is doing well in sajha discussion. Now, I am regretting for not ignoring him. Although democratic, I can't tolerate support for dictatorship and that forced me to indulge myself in a useless debate. Well, I would only say let's just ignore him now. We have many important things to write and discuss. I am planning to start a new discussion about how the parties should prepare themselves for the upcoming people's movement. And one thing, You have promised me, haven't you? Don't forget that. Let me request you to focus on the topic of this thread and let us know what happened in NY, the previous weekend. :)

I'll keep my word, Newuser ji. On Saroj, yes, I know he is nothing but a "bundle of ridiculous paradox". I thought to let him know this for one time. That's all. I think I have already done that.

Nepeji and NewuserJi, I really appreciate your persistent efforts, lets say fight! against absolute monarchy and support for freedom, human rights and democracy in Nepal. I think i do share and agree with most of your views about serimoneal monarchy and multiparty democracy where civil rights, individul freedom and human rights are respected in reality and i think anyone with concious mind may not want to disagree with these basic tenents of 21 century world. I am silent reader of your writings and at least i am acquainted a little bit about Nepe's personality from my uncle (who is a friend of Nepe). Although i don't have very deep disagreement with his ideas, objectivity and intensions i do have little bit to say about his way/style of writing and presenting his ideas to the readers. In some occasions, he seems to be very much harrashing to the oponents of his ideology and writes very personal things/examples. I think it may be due to our generation gap or whatever i generally find difficulty in digesting his writing style eventhough he writes what i also think about Nepal. Nothing personal to u Nepe uncle (i think i should call u uncle, Never mind hai, let me know if u don't like it). I mean, i sometimes feel that if Nepe incorporates some pleasent and liberal writing styles into his postings he would beyound any doubt be really fantastic thinker and prodemocratic activist of the present time in Neplese diaspora. I think you will win the heart of people (including oponents) if you approach to them with love and respect and i think these are the things integral to democretic norms. Anyway, these are my personal views, forgive me if that hurts u any form and style. Nut

Dear Nut, You gave me perhaps the best compliments I ever got. I seriously doubt if I deserve it, however I am deeply honored. After this much honor, I will plead guilty to any charge you bring, ehehehe. But seriously, I confess that occasionally I have assumed a hostile pose to opposite political views in Sajha. However, this is limited to political views only and that too to hostile postings themselves. But this is not meant to justify my style. I am sure with a little bit more patience, I can do much better. It's just that with the volume of hostility, indecency and irresponsibility I have seen in Sajha throughout 4 years of my stay, my patience (my patience was legendary among my friends and family. My grandmother, legendary for dominance and power, used to call me 'Buddha' for my docility and patience !) has eroded to some extent. But that is not full explanation for my hostile style. This hostility basically comes from a sense of activism. I am not sure if writing in Sajha with a sense of activism (cf. pure academic purpose) makes sense. However, I have been getting compliments from fellow activists for exactly doing that. Activism is tiresome and acting a hostile pose when in fact I am not so is even more tiresome. So trust me I will more than happy to have an academic atmosphere in Sajha and be able to engage in engaging discussions. So Dear Nut, I thank you for this opportunity to make my confessions and also to enjoy your priceless compliments. Thank you. Nepe uncle

WOW!! I am really thrilled with ur enormously positive and encouraging response. I have been reading very closely all the political and some other relevant and interesting discussion in this forum and I was kind of thinking to write about u but again, I thought you would get offended and would reply with hostility. But you proved me wrong and I think this is the first step to feel confident with your words. I am happy with all of your confessions and commitment for engaging in academic and amicable discussions. Thanks a lot!! BTW, I have listened from my uncle about your gazaals, PhD from Israel and almost grown up kids!! (I guess even my uncle does not know anything after your PhD thing, may be you guys are out of contact even if both of you are in US academia!! Fortunately I was visiting my uncle place during the DC rally and when I showed him the DC rally Pictures from sajha, he happened to recognize you). Well I have started one thread ?How many PhDs in sajha?. I am really looking forward to hear about your research (sweet/better experiences!!) in that thread (only if you feel comfortable with sharing it in the public forum). Nut

Nut, Thrill is all mine. I have shot an email to you. Would like to talk to you more and privately. On a public note, I am glad to see young people like you joining Sajha and trying to create a good atmosphere here. Sajha is one of the most popular sites and it's ironic if not pity that it has also become perhaps one of the most abusive sites. I do hope people like you will change it into a site worth recommending to people we care. I don't know exactly how to make that happen, but it deserves to be so. Nepe To bring back the original spirit of the thread, here is a picture from the party. Nepe uncle dancing with the host and a guest. . .
