The war was declared way back but it got heated up when Google Launched "Google Talk". Today Bill Gates(MSN Messager) And Terry Semel (Yahoo IM) teamed up on messaging.

You call guys, who will win the WAR?
Google or Microsoft+Yahoo? and note, AOL has not responded on this yet (AOL consists of 56% of IM users).

And recent news is that google is now teaming up with Java to challenge MS products...

I believe Microsoft if feeling that the ground beneath them is moving slowly. They still have the majority of the market shares, but till when?? Stealing others code and idea, making it refine is always ain't gonna work!!

AOL doesn't care much these days as they know they have got the optimum market, whatever they can get and as far as I know and as far as AOL goes, many of the growing businesses do use AOL to communicate within the team or so.

Microsoft is getting teamed up with yahoo looking at their own benifit. If they bring yahoo their side, they will have one less giant to compete with but for how long microsoft will continue to monopolize (they don't say they are but we all know the truth) the market??

Sweet...I think I read about this as well. I really like the google "business model" build a really strong reputation, and then try to market it. Instead of...look, a new search engine...we also offer this 10k thingamagiggie that is totally untested and unproven.

It ain't long before we see the Corporate War among (microsoft + Yahoo), (Sun Java + Google), and (oracle +people soft). CA is occupying its share in the market too.

Its gonna be a whole lotta fun to see what these come up with, esp. new marketing stratgy, new advertising campaign, and their customer support (I think thats one of the main issues for companies to change the tools they use)!!

You won't have to wait too long before you start seeing all these Computer sales people knocking at to your door every 10 mins (like jehovah witness) to show you the new product and explain how good they are!!
