I don't know about others, but I have tried to live / lived what you phrased "without any concept, belief, ideas and opinions about yourself and your surroundings."

I have done meditation. And, I know it can bring changes in one's life.

So, what?

I believe in God as told in the earliest hindu scriptures of 'Vedas' and 'Upanishads'. Not in the current day concept of 'God'. As per that concept, God is 'Brahman', that is a divine energy, which is neither male nor female, nor has any clearly describable identity. Its a supreme force / energy from which the 'prakriti' (air, water, fire, earth, space) are derived and so are the living beings and non living things. So "God' as a derivation of this energy exists in everything, be it a man, or and animal or a bacteria or a stone.

okay i didn't acutally see your post to me earlier. I have seen a person who has meditated most of his life, yet is cold and full of negative attitudes. after seeing that person destroy lives of people, giving mental torture to others, what do i make out of meditations?
no i haven't tried meditating, yet have learnt that people like him exists. and have learnt that it is the attitude that makes a person good or evil!

Samir jee, is there any way that we can discover ourselves what has been described in Vedas and upanishad instead believing in what somebody else has asked us to do so?

Sajhauser, My response was to address meroDeurali's " life without any concept, belief, ideas and opinions about yourself and your surroundings."

I don't know if your post is directed to me, but I just wanted to comment on what you said. Just because someone has meditated, doesn't mean s/he is enlightened. You, I, or any psycho can "meditate." And, there are so many forms of meditation.

Just to let you know, the Tihar jail had customer like inmates, who would be out, but would come back again because they would again do some stupid crime repeatedly. Vipassana Meditation, that was re/discovered by Buddha was conducted there, and those inmates who were among those meditators, and who were so used to getting caught and coming back to the jail, didn't come back again.

Sajhauser jee, there is no such thing as positive or negative energies. There is only one energy.

slack, my previous post was not for you, but this one is. yes, the meditation was that of vipassena. and the torture i'm talking about is not physical. maybe that person would have given physical torture if he didn't go into vipassena, maybe not. the torture that he gave others was not by killing or stealing. it was his nature that made him think he was the greatest person of all and that all others were stupid, making others do what he wanted them to do, basically, devoiding others from their freedom. He was basically a super egoist, a narcessist. I feel i learned more about human nature by experiencing such a devil-like person, and i don't feel the need to meditate. i am happy the way i am after realizing the fact i was not the one who needed help.

Sajhauser, I am kind of surprised that that the story was for me.

I don't know who you are talking about. I truly hope that "narcessist", "egoist", is not me just because I initially didn't give much attention to your pointing out mistake to the programming problem I had. (And, to let you know, yeah the code what I again thought right didn't really work, but I think I made it work rearranging the logic, with the same fashion...I don't know).

I am emotionally weak person and small things make me sad; but, over the years I have learned not to be upset with small things from "some person." However, I am going to get hurt if you are implying me by saying all that, and if it is, please open up. I need your honesty.

I will wait your answer before replying your post with the story of some cruel man, and which was dedicated to me. :(

slack, you're misunderstanding ke :D. i'm not saying that you're narcessist. nonono. i'm just talking about a person who actually meditated vipassena, perhaps half of his life, yet doesn't know the virtues of life like: love and kindness. it seemed like he only knew how to be rude. so i meant to say that because of the person, i don't see the significance of meditation.

thanks for letting me know about the code..i'm relieved :P

Thanks Sajhauser, YOU relieved me! :p ;) :D

Well, why wouldn't that person be like communist Keshar Jung Rayemajhi, for instance? Rayemajhi claims himself a communist, but he is just a monkey of the king?!

What I can tell you from my own personal experience is Vipassana doesn't teach you to be rude and hateful. It teaches what you just said the virtues of life, love and kindness. It is the self that has to be determined to change oneself-be it the medium: meditation, self-analyzation or you give the name.

And, hey, it's totally up to you. I just like the teachings of Buddha. And, I found the meditation practical. That's about it.

Gotta go! :P :D

samir urf "hawaa kaa jhokaa"....... I like your reasonings. But, I see a big flaw in it. After all, it was 'people' who wrote the vedas, wasn't it?

And, those 'people' intellectually and interestingly defined 'brahmin'.

' it was 'people' who wrote the vedas'..........well yes, people wrote the 'Vedas', so what's wrong in it? 'Bible' and 'Quran' are also written by people. At least 'Vedas' are not written by a single individual.

I find it plausible as it doesn't describe 'God' as an individual or someone with supernatural powers. The basic difference between 'Gods' like Ram, Krishna, Jesus or Muhammad and the 'Brahman' of the 'Vedas n Upanishads' is that, 'Brahman' is a form of energy without any form / shape/ size or clear cut attributes from which basic elements like air / water / space etc. arise which are necessary for beginning of life forms. With time, living beings evolve from simple life form to complex forms, lastly into a human being after passing through 84 million 'joonis' / or species whatever u say. And since 'Brahman' is a form of eternal energy, it is within u and within anything that exists on earth. So u don't need to go searching for 'God' anywhere else. Just look into yourself, you'll meet 'God' the day u 'self actualise' and know ur true self.

And mind u, there's a lot difference between 'Brahman' of Vedas and the term 'Brahmin'. Brahmin in current day means a particular caste, which emerged in the later day 'Puranas' and has been retained by the current day 'Hinduism'. This entity is not the 'Brahman' mentioned in the 'Vedas' and 'Upanishads'.

The current day science has also proposed the 'big bang theory' about the creation of the Universe. According to it the Universe was created from something like a 'black hole' where there was nothing but some 'condensed energy' and even 'time' was not there. Universe started forming some 4.5 million years ago with a 'big bang or explosion' that occured in this energy source, and it is still expanding. But the expansion will cease at one point of time in future and everything will contract into the initial condensed energy, and then another cycle may start again. Its somewhat akin to the 'formation and destruction' of stars.

I find the 'Brahman' concept interesting as it is somewhat similar. The 'Brahman' also exists in 'mahashunya' or 'vast nothingness', just some physical energy with indescribable attributes. At that point, there is no other characteristics, neither day nor night or seasons or anything, not even 'time'. And this 'Brahman' expands gradually and 'Shristi' starts. At the end everything will be destroyed again and the whole cycle starts over. According to this philosophy, the current 'shrishti' (Unuverse) started forming 4.38 million years ago, and there have been multiple such cycles of creation and destructions since the beginning, with the total time being around 19 billion years !!! Quite strange no ?

My interpretation of god:

God is Hope, a guide, a figure and an image of perfect being; who we can learn something from.

Does he exist or does he not, that is for the indivisible mind to decide. As for me I do believe gods exist.

Religion is a guideline to improve you for a better life, make you a better person, civilized human being.
