I heard raju lama and his band are working in subway resturant.

As far as I know, Raju Lama's band members were missing. Raju volunteered to stay back and help the organization, who sponsored them, to find his band members. Now, he is back in Nepal.

actually raju stayed with me for a while. had to put him up cause he is my good buddy. now he is back safely in ktm i can disclose his whereabouts.

sajhakohero...we are no one...but i guess your buddy "Mr. Raju Lama" is certainly a celebrity in Nepal and with being a celebrity he is a public property and possess some responsibilities with that fame so it is natural for us to be concerned about his whereabouts and legal status as it will impact other's life too.

INS officials will be there to escort him out during his performance. He is going to gain a lot more popularity. He will use this popularity to participate in the next American Idol that is my prediction.

There has been a little confusion here.

There are two major Raju LamaS in the nepali music scene today.

The one playing in the Washington DC metro area is
also Raju Lama but from Angles band.

If any INS officers are reading this thread, please do not arrest the Raju Lama from Angles band as audience might not be too happy about it after they have purchased the tickets and have not seen the show yet.

But I am not saying you can arrest him after the show is done either.

Let this be a warning for all the organizers throught US. Raju, I understand because of his voice and the status, but do you really need the guitarist, bassist and the drummer? Do you really? There're lots of Nepali musician living right here, why not let them do it. Give them a month notice so they can make arrangement with their work schedule. If you're in a place with no Nepali musician, then why not try the local kids? Check your local craigslist and there'll be tons of them who justa want to gig, anytime, any type of music.
Anyway, it's not like Nepali music like Raju's songs are so hard to play that we need to import the guitarist. It's not a Yngwie or Satraini level of skills. I think any Nepali musician residing here in the US will agree.
I understand that there'll be certain occasion that we'll have to get them from Nepal. The person that come right off my mind right now is the Manoj, the guy who plays flute with 1974 AD. Or some exceptional Sarangi player, a master of Sitar. Those situation are understandable. But Drummer, Bassist and guitarist? Do you really need to invite them?
In fact I'm suspicious about the organizers (the buddhist community)whether they did it deliberately and it needs to be investigated. Maybe it's all a drama set by someone with a connection. Who knows.
By the way I'm a buddhist too, but first a Nepali citizen.

Oh man I didn't know there were two raju lamas who were established singers. One of them should copyright their name and sue the other thus quickly ending the ambiguity, confusion and the career of the other raju lama.

I hope the INS does not deport the wrong Raju Lama, that would be pretty unfortunate.
