After reading this article, I have a deep feeling for him. I was mostly against what he did during his reign. But, I feel that his failure might be because of his nasty advisors. We, Nepalese once more show our sympathy and FORGIVE him.
What do you think???

After reading some of the comments I couldn't help but have my opinion be heard too. These are just my personal thoughts up on reading some of your comments. One comment that particularly caught my interest was " Atleast in present system , we can shout at the government whether it works or not."
Do you really beleive this to be true? Can anyone of us go on Nepal TV, newspapers or the radio and comment on Prachanda or Baburam or Upendra without facing any repercussions? Can we go and comment on the how certain policies are not working and what is required in Nepal in order to run the country? Nepal has a lot of intelligent people and I am sure all of us realize we need to work on economic policies, educational policies, infrastructure. But none of have raised these issues. Our current government is working on what should they name various things and removing statues etc. These things should be last on their list. Do these things once you prove you are worthy of your position.
I am not here to support kingship or any of the current politician. As much as I love my country, at this point of time I just feel like it's a lost cause. I just feel like Politicians don't get it and majority of the citizens don't get it. (by it I mean the necessities to improve a country). The people who do get it are frustrated and have either left the country or are waiting for their opportunity to leave the country.
The only way to stir things up is to bring in New Blood in the fore front. New thinkers that truely beleive in things such as it's more beneficial to grow the pie rather than fight for the last piece of pie. People who aren't afraid of change but rahter think of change as a path to new opportunities.
The reason I say Nepal is currently a lost cause is because nothing has changed. Has violence in the country decreased, have there been any economic improvements, do our citizens feel safe?
What has Prachanda or Baburam done for the very people they promised a brighter Nepal? What has Upendra Yadav done for the people of terai since coming to office? All I have seen is Prachanda and Upendra doing world tours in their suits. Maybe I am been blinded by some of my own beliefs and couldn't see the changes. So I request fellow sajhites to help me. Those sajhites that believe things have changed in Nepal for the better, please could you list out the things that have imporved and how it has benefitted the larger population of Nepal.
Thank you.

I was in kathmandy when the Royal Massacre happened. For 13 days we were blind about the happening. We were forbidden from any kind of news. Right infront of my house , cops were shooting at people who were protecting against then king Gyanendra. Everyone of us had to shave our head. No internet , no grouping, nothing was allowed . I dont even know how many of innocent people got injured during that time and some might have died since they were not even counted as they were thought treators to Gyanendra. My father was crying as his beloved king was massacred. He even started drinking. Even after that incident, people were scared. No group discussion was allowed. No gathering and no more protest. We just had to do what we were told to do. I dont want that to repeat that again. Some king are good but some are worst too. I dont know about present system because we have seen only downfall of this system. But only thing that i liked at present that our president is selected from minority and he is educated .

What does President got to do. President have no power. His work is confined to inaguration and so forth. We haven't seen any change. Rather it is going worse and worse. Load shedding in kathmandu is 45 hours a week. Can you believe? Why didn't our neta had vision that we need electricity after 2046. No developmemt in this sector and people all around nepal had to suffer. And I don't believe when people say Atleast in present system , we can shout at the government whether it works or not". If you remember for how long MAOBADI PIDIT are shouting. They live in very poor condition in kathmandu, with no proper food and shelter. People have also been demanding that their houses and lands are taken away forcibly for a long time now. Has their voice been listened?
Don't forget people in Susta. They now practically live in Indian territory. Have their voice been heard. It has been well over one year now. Had our net made voice about indian invasion.

Yes no quiere bro, first of all this is not before 2046, when the meaning of democracy was not that broad among all people. I even remember those days while playing infront of the police dept, we were even scared of saying the word "KING". We were not even allowed to gather together. Police would chase us as if it was their rule.
I dont really support present system, but only meant this system came with understanding not by force. There used to be killing before 2046. Nobody would bother to know who killed, what thing killed. People were not even allowed to travel except few.
I am not even against King Gyanendra as I would have more respect for him if he would have thought in the progress of the country than doing harm.

Sujitcha, How about being scared to utter the word "MAOBADI", when they were underground? Tell me which system the people feared more? The King or the terrorists? If your answer is King, I laugh at you and if you think it was the Maoists, I laugh at you even more for your line "only meant this system came with understanding not by force" does not make sense anymore.

Suchita for your wisdom!
Lets talk things before 2046 and after that! I let you folks decide were we better off then or now-be honest, if not ask your dad!
1. Road Side accidents
Before 2046-there was one bus accident in jogimar, trishuli- it was indeed a big news, there was so much of concern.
Now- there are accidents every alternate day. No body bothers! forget the government is even a bit worried about day to day roadside accidents.
2. Killings/Munders
Before 2046- who could forget "namita sunita hatyakand"- it was big news, and some tabloids blame- prince Dhirendra, Neer Shah gang for it-though no proof was presented, still people gather courage to warn then powerful royal regime.
Now- I do not know how many namita and sunita are dying, abducted, raped. Not to mention, your defence (terrorist) minister goes to meet police wanter killer- murderer of ramhari shrestha. Well, there are countless happenings of such things ..i let you folks do the math. Can you really seakout in a public front against “prachanda regime”? no, you know the apparent consequence of that!
3. Night Life/Security
Before 2046- I used to hang around with my friends even after midnight after that without any fear used to walk alone or some time with someone, to my house which is located around 1 hour walking distance from new road. Sometime encountered police on the way, but never gave me any trouble, just enquired.
Now- When it becomes dark, you head up to home, forget about hanging out till the midnight. Will you walk even a 100ft after midnight today? May be today, policeman would not even ask you fearing as if you bear arms or you are YCL.
4. Corruption
Before 2046- “Akhtiyar” used to be more powerful entity. Government official used to hesitate to ask bribe money directly, things used to be in under the table, that cases were minimal if you compare today.
NOW - no body gives a shit, corruption is a adopted culture now-over the table , anywhere anytime.
Further, now you have given more than 10 million Indians citizenship, before 2046- you could not do!! Let me curtail here, I can go on and on…you decide, if you are born after 2046 please do not forget to ask your dad! or uncle!
KING WAS THE ONLY PATRIOT LEFT AND YOU DUMB ASS THREW HIM OUT AND YOU ARE CRYING! YOU DESERVE THIS LIFE DO NOT YOU. ???" aghi raadee janina, pachi raadee manina, bag lagyo ghichyana, radee lagi chichyauna"-this applies to you who love to live in rumor and are shortsightedness!

Kanchu very intersting article of the roadside accident has been presented by you. The road of Nepal is so bad that, When I retured last year to Nepal I was amazed to an extent it has deteriorated . Bad roads are one of the main problem of road accident. Unfortunately we are largely depending upon the same the same road made by king mahendra.

Sujitcha bro you are LOST sorry man you are completely lost in this confusion and dont worry there are millions like you too I was too but I always supported the monarchy. like many you are Probably brainwashed or in complet denial. Sujuitcha bro I really dont see why you still hope something good is going to come out from this NEW NEPAL. Brother we all hoped the same but now many of us have already realized that it aint gonna happen. Look bro you are a patriot no doubt about it, you love Nepal like everyone and you want to see the best for our country. I dont know where you live but I live in USA and as everyone knows this is the land of the FREE, the most democratic country in the world......Right? But bro try breaking the law here, or do the things one can do freely in Nepal and you might just say USA is not democratic at all......try throwing trash anywhere, try to take a piss in the wall, try buying a ciggarette or booze underage, try breaking a traffic violation, even a red light, try to hit someone when angry, try to drink and drive here, try to bribe a judge or any place, Try to solicitate a minor for sex , try to rob, kidnapp, kill or threaten someone here, try to boss people around here, try many things here that in Nepal is FREE AND NORMAL to do...YOU will find how strict American laws are and how important it is to abide by it or how fast the LAW hammers down on you. NOW if ALL these I mentioned above things are restricted in Nepal....can you imagine the wrath of anger the government is going to face by demonstrators who will complain of it being DICTATORSHIP, HUMAN RIGHTS VIOLATION, ANTI DEMOCRATIC. LOL.....oh yes when King Gyanendra stopped the use of internet and cellphones temporarily......It was only because The ARMY requested it (reason was also made public too)so maoists could not communicate and organize attacks or be warned before a raid. But Nepali people will die without cellphones and internet.....not by the maoists LOL..... AND further down KANCHU explains a lot which is the absolute truth. if you havent noticed Nepal.....sujutbro please go to terai if you look a bit pahadi....GOD BLESS YOU. LASTLY
BRING THE KING BACK AND PUNISH ALL THOSE DIRTY POLITICIANS and MAOIST, YCL should be dismantled so should all other armed outfits, LASTLY.......PLA AND NEPAL ARMY CANNOT BE INTEGRATED. how can an army with less than 10 yrs experiance join a 240 old Nepal Army and how can a person from PLA become the army chief with few yrs rebel training compare to a GENERAL IN NA who has spent more than 30 yrs in climbing the Ranks of a very proffesional ARMY.??? AND YES WAKE UP NEPALI BROTHERS AND SISTERS....WAKE UP.

I dont know politics a lot.... But i think the main reason maoists won the election so overwhelmingly, despite their role in creating violence and killing lot of nepalese, because Nepalese people were hungry for true leadership...For years, they had been thinking that King was their leader who understood their pain but after King Gyanendra tried to seize all the powers, they lost their faith in King and Since they were also tired of old political parties, they considered maoists to be fresh and new..and gave them election and the.... they went to Europe and America with their family for vacation right after getting the position .................. ,, our country is in more trouble than we think it is in.... All this is because it is run by the corrupt politicians with no vision...and its our fault too,we should have thought sensibly before doing nara, julus and banda for political parties..........................Unless we all decide to truly change our attitude and do something ,,,,,, i fear that maoists and current parties will destroy our country and it wont be the same beautiful and wonderful place that we grew up in......

" I do not want to explain a lot and write a lengthy paragraph here explaining why king lost the crown-
just to let you know that he lost the crown not because of the some masses or the politcal mob or because of " so called janaandolan 2063" -he lost the crown solely because of conspiracy hatched by " India"..how, intelligent people know it, if you do not-then you are just one of those brianwashed fool!

Forgive king for trying to clean up the mountain of mess accumulated during the last 16 years of demoquasy that too at the eleventh hour when all hopes had been lost? Are you nuts? Its the politicians who should be begging for forgiveness as they are the ones who ravaged the country and gave nothing but miseries to the people. Yet, somehow, for mysterious reasons the blame is still put on the king. How charming!! I simply don't understand how the psyche of the masses work. I don't see even a single fault in the king. No matter what benchmark or barometer you use, he was by far the most benign and the least evil of all the political players in the country. But not to worry, all the Nepalis will soon regret for banishing a guardian who had their best interest in his heart and embracing a fiend who will send them to hell. If you thought the worst days are behind us, uh uh... you anint seen nothing yet, what lies ahead for this nation and its people will make the last painful years look like a picnic. Just wait and see. What makes me say this so confidently? Well, its no brainer. I don't expect oranges from an apple tree. Its that simple. Well... you can keep hoping if you want to that some day miraculously the apple tree will bear oranges all your life. But heres a news falsh - that's never going to happen no matter what. Expecting glorious days for Nepal from these politicians is nothing but day dream. Infact, like I said, the worst days are yet to come because we have just given them a huge resounding approval. Sadly, by doing so we have also given a death penalty to our country, freedom and our sovereignty.

History is for winner! When a person loses,
people never talk about his positive signs. This is what happening since
removal of king from Nepal. King Gyanendra did some mistakes but he has also
done many positive things for country. He is well educated person with very
good experience in European and Russian life style. He wanted to make Nepalese
life style like European but most of Nepalese are happy with Indian life style.
When King asked to follow law and order strictly, register all properties (
flats, houses, shops etc etc) for tax collection purpose, build our nation in
different ways.... politicians translated it in different ways just because
they are powerless at that time. Now politicians got power, they are throwing a
piece of bread and "doggs" are fighting for that. This is a democracy. Wait, it's
not over yet, there is another condition for democracy. "Street doggs!" are only
allowed to fight with street dogs and all other domestic dogs must change into
"street dogg" in order to fight for bread. If it doesn't happen, state will use
"MMAD-DOGSss" in order to bring domestic d"dogs" into street. it's policy of
current New Nepal. It takes time but gradually people will realise soon why
king was right and is right. There is no meaning to forgive coz he has done no
mistakes by himself.
