Lamopuri, both Nikon and Cannon makes excellent DSLRs. The camera you mentioned Rebel 18mp, probably you are referring to Rebel 2TI. It is an very good camera and has excellent 1080p video mode. I recommend you to visit http://www.cameralabs.com/ it has complete reviews for many DSLRs. You have many options with different features, so take a look at those reviews and decide which is the best match for your needs. I recommend to take a look at Nikon D3100 and D7000 as well.
